In the beginning, email was the only way to start viral marketing. Since that day, viral marketing has transformed from a marketing strategy into an art form, and there are many ways to achieve the goal of creating a successful viral marketing campaign. Seven of those methods are:


1. Email: It was in the beginning but it still exists and is still used. However, it is becoming more difficult to use as more and more government restrictions are imposed on it. Still...it works.


2. Newsletters: This is an extension of email but a very powerful tool. If you include enough valuable and timely information, a good newsletter can increase traffic to your website.


3. Blogging: Providing tools on your website to enable bloggers to interact with each other is a great way to get the message across and talk about your service product. Bloggers have their ears to the ground for new products and services.


4. Chat Rooms: A chat room on your website can encourage interaction between your customers, and that can't be a bad thing. You can also use the chat room to schedule special events such that an expert will be available to answer questions on a certain day and at a certain time.


5. Tell a friend text: If you add this with a statement that the email addresses provided will never be shared with third parties, you can increase your list of potential customers significantly.


6. Videos: Including great videos on your website will generate interest and drive traffic.


7. Flash Games: Although they are a bit expensive to get started with, they are a very effective tool to start your viral marketing campaign. Once launched, they don't need anything more from you.
