 Identify the target market

Achieving good sales is the ultimate goal of any company. Many criteria, such as competitive prices, near-perfect product, reaching the right audience and motivational advertising, are responsible for this and must be addressed in marketing.

First things first, all efforts will be in vain if the right audience is not identified. It is the key factor in getting bumper sales, because if the right customers are not targeted, they will not buy the product. Suitable customers are known as target customers or niche market, and are those who will be happy to buy products that meet their needs and are also less expensive.

Small businesses should not be afraid to compete with larger companies because they produce products with a larger range, which sometimes will not be tailored to customers because the products are more generic and do not care as much about the competition they may get from others. This gives an opportunity to small companies to produce products that can meet the needs of a section of people whose needs are not specifically met by large companies.

Although it seems like a silly question, but first, the company must understand who are the people it wants to target. Success lies in understanding this, which requires comprehensive research and analysis. Various factors must be taken into account. Age group is the first factor, whether the product will be beneficial for infants, children, teens, young, middle-aged or elderly. Sometimes there is a possibility that a product can meet the needs of all age groups. The next thing to consider is gender. Marital status, occupation, ethnic background, health status, income status, education, hobbies, etc. are some factors that should also be considered.

After identifying the customer group to target, you should write down the benefits that the product can provide to this group. A thorough examination of the service or product should be conducted for this purpose. If there is enough time, you can conduct a survey on existing customers and ask them questions like what they liked about the products they are using, any inconvenience they face, do they want to change anything to make the product better, etc.

After making a list of all the benefits, you should consider which of these benefits will actually help your target audience. Prepare a short list of features that would be useful and send it to the marketing department. It can definitely help in their marketing plan and can boost sales.

The Internet has made reaching your target customers very easy. Search engines can be used to their fullest extent for this purpose. The exact thing you want to search for can be typed as a keyword or search term into search engines and the results that appear on the first three pages will be very valuable. But there is a lot of time and investment in this process, as different keywords will bring different search results. So efforts should be made to finally get what is desired.

The next best thing is to communicate via newsletters and e-zines. Many online magazines are related to marketing, finance, shopping, internet, etc. A number of websites can be found in the ezines directory, which also contains contact information, advertising rates, etc. The list of electronic journal websites should be shortened. Which relate to the target market and the advertisement must be placed in those selected and which must include all the benefits of the product if the advertisement allows this number of words.

Identifying your target market is crucial to any successful advertising and sales campaign. Once identified, it can be reached through various channels such as websites, newspapers, magazines, etc., making the customer believe that he or she is being addressed directly. Since the whole approach will interest them, the volume of traffic received in return will simply be enormous and all the effort will be worth it.
